Your First Visit — What You Can Expect
Your initial visit will include:
- Approximately one hour of evaluation. Doctor Yankie will actively listen to you to understand your wishes and concerns. You are our top priority!
- We will take any necessary images, such as full mouth x-rays (needed every 3-5 years) or bite-wing x-rays (needed annually). These images are an important tool to detect dental concerns early on that are invisible to the eye or touch.
- Oral cancer screening and soft tissue exam.
- TMJ Exam.
- Periodontal evaluation. Healthy teeth and successful restorative and cosmetic procedures greatly rely on healthy gums.
- Hygiene recommendations. The doctor and hygiene team work closely to personalize your periodontal care to optimize your oral health. The focus is on improving the health of your gums as an essential ingredient in your overall sense of well being. Re-care recommendations for hygiene therapy can be anywhere between 3 and 6 months and may include deeper and more intensive cleanings.
- Orthodontic Evaluation
- Treatment plan and consultation. Doctor Yankie will provide you with the most conservative treatment options. She prefers to preserve as much tooth structure as possible, while providing the best restorative & cosmetic options available for your needs. She is meticulous in restoring your teeth to their natural beauty in the most artistic way. Albeit time consuming sometimes, these procedures will offer important savings to your tooth and your pocketbook in the long run.
You will be happy you did!
We strongly recommend dental hygiene treatments at least twice a year. So, please take some time to schedule an appointment with one of our professional hygienists as well. This can be on the same day as, however it must follow, the diagnostic exam with Doctor Yankie.
If you have access to our new patient forms, please be so kind and fill them out, so we can better personalize your care on that first day.
Please also tell us about your previous dental experiences, so that we can help you better by requesting all necessary information from your former dentist. We will need your records from your previous dentist by your first appointment date. We can either request them from your former dentist, your dentist can e-mail them to us at or you can bring them with you on your first appointment.
Note: We are popular! Please help us maintain a fair appointment schedule by informing us two full business days prior to rescheduling your appointment. There will be a $ 75.00 charge otherwise. Thank you so much for your consideration.
